Silver 'down' ^^
Boys were home with an NID yesterday, so we got some puppy work done. :)
First, we did some crate training. Blue is naturally quiet and patient in the crate for the approximately 30 minutes at a time that he's done so. Silver isn't terrible about it, but does have more to say about that personal affront, lol. However, she did quiet down several times and was rewarded with treats and then freedom after several quiet cycles.
While one pup was in the crate, we continued our training sessions with the other one. After which, we clipped pups' nails. This is their fourth or fifth time, and, as usual, they handled it with aplomb.
Then we dewormed them. And, finally, got a few pics. Yay! Nice to catch up on some of these things :)
Pics are of Silver doing her 'down' (we're starting to work on holding it a bit longer), and 'sit'. She's very attuned to me and quicksilver with commands, often popping out of a down as soon as she's hit the floor, and yet is more patient with my picture taking commands and will sit or down fairly quietly- not as easily distracted by movement as her brother. An interesting mixture of traits. :) She is 23 lbs.
Silver - such a focused puppy :)
Blue doing his 'down', 'sit', and then standing trying to figure out what I'm doing with the camera & what he's supposed to be doing in response. Blue is starting to roll over for me (via treat lure, not physically positioned). He caught onto what I was trying to get him to do within the *first two tries of the first session ever **!! Amazing.
Blue is 22.5 lbs.
I increased the lighting so his face could be seen, which skewed the coloring on his side. He's not really gray / blue, lol :p
Blue - such an earnest puppy - sitting so pretty :)
Something I have in my Pet Puppy Contract, but that I don't think I've ever mentioned in my blog is that I offer a $50 refund if owners wait until 18 months to spay/neuter (speuter) and get a preliminary OFA hip x-ray done at the same time. Once I receive a copy of the x-ray & the OFA results, owners get their refund. This benefits the dog's growth, the owner's wallet, and is important feedback for my breeding program.
