16 wk Pupdate & training video

I took Blue & Silver down to the pasture to observe us trimming goat hooves a couple of days ago. Both of them told us they weren't impressed at times, but were amazingly good considering they've never been tied up before. You can somewhat see Silver's seal color in the above picture.

Silver's feet look really big, but it's partly due to the upright, alert posture she's holding and partly due to a growth spurt. Her parents went through similar stage at that age and now have nice, rounded feet that suit their size.

We had a no bus day today, so I had a helper home. Unfortunately, he has a huge project due tomorrow, so only had time to video one pup, but both did really well. Both Silver & Blue have progressed very well in spite of a fairly debilitating injury to my arm which caused weeks off puppy handling. They were starting to develop a real preference for my treat delivering right hand due to the splint I have to wear on my left, so I took it off for the training. Thankfully, arm didn't get bumped, and they did target better with it off. Both Blue & Silver are attentive and have retained their sporadic training well. Silver, aptly named Quicksilver, is a bit faster on her feet than her brother. Blue is a sweetheart who has matured from his goofball self at 7 weeks to a more focused, more serious, loyal version. He still distracts at times, but has come a long way. I'll try to get Blue done soon. Silver training today (click underlined words to view)
