Opal shown above watching a couple of new cows we got in Oct (she was actually facing them with me in between)
Since we had DNA health tested both of Opal's parents through Embark, we were able to ascertain that Opal was clear of everything for which her parents had been cleared, which means she is clear via parentage for 179/180 health issues.
However, since Jazz is a DM carrier, we tested Opal through GenSol specifically for that one thing. We were pleased to discover that she is DM clear like her sire. :)
We also had Opal OFA tested for hips and elbows in December of 2020. She was assigned OFA Normal elbows & a 'Fair' hips result. We're happy with the x-rays and that she's an improvement over her dam.
