Misty x Laddie pups Week 3

It has been a BUSY week! Between family birthday parties, health testing our entire goat herd (yes... meaning doing blood draws, fecal pulls, etc), moving stock around for breeding & building the appropriate infrastructure for that, being locked out by FB briefly, and having a household sewer blockage for a couple of days... never mind the regular chores and puppy nest cleaning... it's been... LONG.

However, it unfortunately also means I'm behind in this blog.

I *did* get pictures taken on Wednesday when the Misty x Laddie pups turned 3 weeks, but it's taken me this long to sort through all of them.

(Oh, and in case FB locks me out again, in addition to our websites, I can also be found on MeWe)

While Misty often feeds the pups in a sitting position, she now occasionally offers dinner from a standing position.

Puppies have improved their mobility from waddling shakily along at the beginning of the week to maneuvering much quicker and more confidently in their movements.

Puppies had collar changes, front nails trimmed, and were given coccidia preventative this week. By Saturday, they had hearing and the radio has been turned on daily (but off at night) to help expose them to different voices and sounds.

The pups are maturing enough that it was time to add a potty area; that happened on Wednesday. All of them have used it to wee in, but it'll be a few days before they catch onto using it consistently, and for everything.

Puppy weights. This week it was all females for both extremes. Purple won the chunkiest pup award at 4.13 lbs. Pink is still the smallest at 3.19 lbs.

Individual puppy pics (Day 21) All pups that are not obviously sable appear to be some version of b/w or seal (more info here & here). Some of the pups currently appear dark grey, some with dark reddish brown hue, but it's very difficult to capture the color on camera. Green is the only one that is appearing pure black / white at this time.

So, looking quite different atm, but, we'll just have to wait and see how their colors develop as they mature.

Blue (m) This boy may be seal; he looks quite b/w here, but has a bit of reddish hue to his coat.

Blue was the first pup I took pics of this week. He immediately made a beeline for his dam's food, so that temptation was removed for the rest of the pups. As well, Misty had shed some of her fur on the carpet, which he nosed out and was very excited over, thinking his mom must be around there somewhere, lol. I was tempted to call him 'Blur' this week as a result; sooo many unfocused photos! (He's not more active than the rest typically, just was stimmed due to the food and mama's scent.)

Gold (m) Shaded sable.

Green (m)

Black & white boy.

Purple (f)

Sable with Black mask.

Red (m)

Red may be a seal; he looks quite b/w here, but has a bit of reddish hue to his coat.

Silver (m)

Sable with black mask. This boy, along with the majority of the pups, has shown interest in connecting with me this week. They're starting to become more aware of their surroundings.

Pink (f)

This girl may be a silver seal; she has a bit of greyish hue to her coat. Although not as pronounced as Spot, this girl is also starting to show some tan around her eyes and in the harness area.

Spot (m)

This boy may be a silver seal; he has a bit of greyish hue to his coat. He's also demonstrating seal via the tan color around his eyes and on his backside (see last 3 pics)

Several puppy spots are reserved, but there are still some openings available. If you're interested in this litter (or want to be on a wait list for a future litter), please fill out our Application Form.
