This is because we do not have heartworm here, so don't follow any prevention protocols. Thus, it's vital that we test to ensure that our dogs are not dealing with a deadly problem that they got prior to arriving here, and for which they would be receiving no treatment without that knowledge. Laddie, being our latest import, had his testing done this month. Thankfully he, along with the rest of our imports, has tested negative upon screening. :)
