Monty x Jazz Pups Week 4

Jazz has started prepping the pups for weaning this week, standing for feedings, and spending longer periods of time away from the nest, since they now have teeth.

As a result, on Sunday we started introducing them to liquefied food. **As with all video links, click on video once link opens to get full pic & sound**

^^ Pink & Blue snacking above.

Here's a short clip of a few of them with their 2nd dinner. To make their feed, we boil kibble in water (the kibble disintegrates well in cooler liquids but since we have a dugout and we're experiencing spring runoff - albeit in fits & starts - we're boiling for sanitation purposes). Then we add some home made liver/chicken/beef broth and mix well with a hand blender. Once the mush is fairly smooth, we add the goat milk formula that we've been using with Jazz in a 1:1 ratio. As the pups get more used to food, we'll be decreasing the quantity of liquid until it becomes thicker. Pups were dewormed this week. They've also heard the vaccuum cleaner, dishwasher, washing machine, movies, and various household clatters. At the beginning of the week, with their hearing just establishing, they would react to sudden sound by starting, alerting, and some would even come toward the sound barking. However, now they're starting to become more accustomed and are frequently sleeping through myriad noises.

A relative came out for a visit to see and socialize with the puppies today. She's our puppy whisperer, putting every puppy she held to sleep during cuddle time <3 I appreciate people taking the time to come help me give the pups a broader range of experiences.

We're still working on potty training. Some pups are taking to it quicker than others, but everyone is progressing well for their age. This morning was the first time the nest didn't have any overnight BM's in it :)

My list is filling quickly. We have 2 male spots and one female spot remaining. If you're interested in this litter (or want to be on a wait list for a future litter), please fill out our Application Form. If you've filled out a form and have decided you definitely want a pup (subject to suitable temperament test), please contact me to arrange deposit to hold your spot. (Deposit holds either a girl or boy spot for you, rather than a specific pup at this time, then at 7 wks, specific pup is confirmed through consultation with you.) If you've already sent a deposit, you're on the confirmed owner list. Deposit is fully refundable if we find at the 7 wk temperament test that we don't have a pup that's suitable for your needs.
